LAVA 2008 AGM and Professional Development Workshop

The 2008 LAVA AGM and Professional Development Workhsop will be held Tuesday June 17 at Bellemere Winery and Event Centre, 1260 Gainsborough Road, London. The AGM will take place at the beginning of the program and be followed by "The Best of Behavioural Based Interviewing Techniques" lead by Michelle Chambers.

Michelle Chambers

 

Michelle Chambers is principle of Chambers and Associates, an organization development firm which collaborates with their clients to inspire and improve individual and organizational effectiveness in the areas of leadership development; strategic planning; team development, process facilitation and change management.  Michelle holds degrees in psychology, business and a Masters in Education.  Michelle also holds the designation of “Certified Human Resources Practitioner” (CHRP) and Certified Training and Development Practitioner.

 

Michelle brings over 18 years of senior management, consulting and training expertise from non profit, healthcare, pharmaceutical, financial services, telecommunications, manufacturing sectors including some of  Canada’s top 50 employers. Michelle has also taught for Brock University and Durham College.  She is board chair for ACCORD (Association for Create Change in Organizational Renewal and Development) and actively involved with the Canadian Society for Training and Development and the Human Resources Professionals Association.   Michelle has spoken at national conferences and has also been published.   Michelle volunteers with organizations such as St. Vincent de Paul; Junior Achievement, the United Way; the Whitby Soccer Club and the Learning Partnership.

Upcoming Program

Educational programming designed to meet the needs of our membership is presented at each LAVA meeting.  The following topics will be covered in the coming months of 2008.

April - The LAVA Web Site - Discussion of the current status of the LAVA web site, its goals and future developmet. Presenter Dale Jardine.

May - The ABC's of Volunteer Management

Two experienced volunteer managers will review the basic components that every volunteer program must have to be successful. The overview will serve as a tune-up for existing programs and building blocks for newly developing programs. Presenters Roxanne Steuer and Gayle Reidl
