What is L.A.V.A.?

The London and Area Association for Volunteer Administration (L.A.V.A.) exists to promote voluteer management and to provide leadership to the managers in this field.

Our stated goals are:

  • To promote professionalism within the field of volunteer management
  • To hold meetings, workshops, conferences, seminars, etc. for the purpose of exchange of ideas and provisions of information about current practices, problems and advances in the field of volunteer management.
  • To collaborate with and assist educational institution to provide training for Directors and/or Coordinators of Volunteer Services.
  • To advocate on behalf of the profession of volunteer management.
  • To encourage the development of volunteerism. To bring together in an association persons in the City of London and surrounding areas who have a common interest in directing volunteer services.

Vision statement:

To be recognized as a dynamic organization where managers of volunteers come to develop in, and promote their profession.
